Sy4 Security moves into Marshall’s Mill

Sy4 Security is the latest business to sign a four-year lease agreement in Marshall’s Mill.
The lease marks an important milestone for the city as it is the first conventional letting of office space in Leeds city centre since 1st April 2020, making it the first agreement to be made since lockdown began.
The agreement will see the company move into a 3,521 sq ft. office space within the Grade II listed building, situated on the South Bank of Leeds.
Marshall’s Mill, originally built by industrialist and MP John Marshall in the early 19th century, is now the centre of an innovative creative and digital business community in Leeds. The reception recently undertook a comprehensive refurbishment, with the redesign creating a contemporary welcome space for tenants and visitors without taking away any of the building’s heritage.
It is home to a range of digital and creative businesses such as True North Productions, MediaCom, Tall and Limehouse Films. New tenants Rubies, who also recently signed a five- year lease deal, means that the ground floor is let to its entirety.
The Mill will be the first home for the company, who recently completed a Management Buyout of BAE Systems global cyber-security Enterprise Managed Security Service, relocating to the premises as an independent business from the BAE Systems facility.
Mike Brown, CEO at Sy4 Security said: “We chose Marshall’s Mill because of its heritage and its location. The building has been standing for 230 years, this shows strength, which is a character of our business. Being so close to the city and the train station was also a huge selling point for us.
“We are looking forward to combining the heritage of the historic mill with the high-tech aspects of our cyber-security business – creating the perfect blend of old and new.”

The lettings were facilitated by Knight Frank acting as joint agents with Creative Space Management.
