We will be hosting our annual bicycle repair workshop in-line with Cycle To Work Day 2020 to support tenants commuting safely to work

With the government advising commuters to walk or cycle, rather than use public transport, where possible, we understand that many tenants will be looking for alternative ways to keep socially distanced while travelling to and from work. To ensure tenants can commute safely, we have invited Chris Hope of Hopey Bicycle Repairs to the mill again to repair tenants’ bicycles.

The event will be held outside Marshall’s Mill main reception on Thursday 6th August, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in ten-minute slots to adhere to social distancing measures.

Every year, we aim to raise money for charities including an Easter egg collection for Leeds Women’s Aid, however due to lockdown and the recent pandemic they have been unable to do so. Although the bicycle repair workshop is free of charge, a JustGiving page has been created for people to donate at their own will. Donations will also be accepted on the day of the event.

If you wish to leave a donation, please visit our JustGiving page here.

Lisa Ellen Riley, Marshall’s Mill, Front of House Receptionist & Events Co-ordinator said: “This year has been extremely difficult for many and we understand that with many returning to work, safe and social distancing can be difficult on public transport. With the estate within walking distance of the city centre and only seven minutes’ walk from Leeds train station, we want to provide those who will be taking advantage of alternative choices of travel such as bicycles have the correct and safe equipment to do so, as well as giving the opportunity to raise money for those in need.”
